Hemedans, 7 hours ago So now its about bulky and not quality ok. I mean, if the weight and size aren't factors, a gaming laptop is a better option.

Hemedans, 7 hours ago But you are fine with 540p 30fps in switch. If the battery life is the same, and I have to choose between 720p30 on a hefty and bulky system with an LCD screen and 540p30 on a light and slim system with an OLED screen, I'll choose the latter. Ideally, I want 720p60 on a light and slim system with an OLED screen with good battery life.

I explained it to you that the screen also uses power. Don't you understand this simple fact? If the SoC uses 15 watts, the system will always use more than that.

Hemedans, 7 hours ago Man they clearly said switch 2 and oled version, Don't put words in their mouth. They said this: "With the Switch, however, you're looking more likely at the two and a half to three hour mark." I assume that they refer to the OG Switch. In any case, they didn't say "with the V2 Switch or OLED Switch." "2 hours and 20 minutes Brightness: 75% Auto-Brightness: Off Airplane Mode: On Battery: 100% to 18% Is this normal? I'm using old Switch" https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/dnc0qp/the_witcher_3_battery_life

Yes, i do want both, so wh... more As I said, there is no need for choices because the battery life of the new Switch and Switch OLED is good. It doesn't make sense to try to extend the already good battery life even further and reduce the performance. On the other hand, the battery life of the Steam Deck is mediocre, so if you want decent battery life, you have to use 30 fps. That's not really a choice. It's a thing that's necessary to do to get what you want. Choices should be something like choosing between 720p60 and 1080p30. Anyway, even if I'm at home, I don't want to stop playing a game to charge a Steam Deck. Maybe you aren't a gamer, so you don't know that playing a game continuously for 4 to 5 hours with short breaks is normal.

It's not the only thing that uses power. The screen uses power as well, otherwise it'll be turned off. The controller also uses power, otherwise how can it send signal? If the screen uses 14 watts and the APU uses 15 watts, the Steam Deck will use at least 29 watts. As I said, if the power limit is 15 watts, it doesn't mean that the APU will use 15 watts all the time, it may use less depending on the load. However, if you play a demanding game, it may use 15 watts all the time while playing it.

Yes, i do want both, so what you do is hook up a powerbank and play on max settings when at home and lying down, and low settings on the go. With switch you're stuck with 720p/30 and even lower all day, everyday when not docked.

In my Steam Deck battery life testing (opens in new tab), with The Witcher 3 running locked at 30 fps on medium settings, I was seeing almost four hours of gaming life from the Deck. With the Switch, however, you're looking more likely at the two and a half to three hour mark. https://www.pcgamer.com/steam-deck-vs-nintendo-switch

If the power limit is 15 watts, that's the maximum power the SoC will use. It doesn't mean that it will use 15 watts all the time. It depends on the load. When it's idle, it may use only 1 watt. Also, if you limit the power, the performance will be reduced. I'm not sure if you're trolling or ignorant.
