The weapon customization system in Battlefield 2042 does not end with attachments and loading. When switching between weapon types, you may have noticed a change in the crosshairs. This change is related to the firing mode of the weapon, which provides options for single shot, burst and fully automatic firing. But how do you change the firing mode? When should you, if any?

To change the shooting mode of a weapon in Battlefield 2042, just press the arrow keys or use the V key. Doing so will switch between each shooting mode available for that weapon. Not all guns can use burst or automatic firing, so be sure to plan accordingly.

You will not be able to use each of these firing modes with every weapon. Especially the sniper rifle does not have the option of automatic or burst shooting mode. However, some weapons, such as the AK-24, can use all three shooting modes.

As for why these other ignition modes are used, it's very simple. Single shot is more suitable for precise shooting, eliminating the inherent recoil of fully automatic shooting. On the other hand, in the same time frame, fully automatic rifles can lead more than single-shot rifles. And burst, well, that's just fun. Many of the best equipment can kill the enemy in a single burst at close range-assuming your equipment is really effective.

Of course, you don't want to use the wrong pattern to be discovered. Continuous shooting is almost useless at long range, and single shots are not very helpful in close combat. Fortunately, you can press the arrow keys or the V key to change the firing mode at any time. If you switch modes frequently, you can reassign the function to the button or key of your choice in the settings menu. While you are there, you may also consider changing some settings to improve frame rate and visibility.
