Anyone I know thinks that Red Panda's pedals have as many functions as possible. You might think that means they are too complicated, but they are not. If you like this kind of thing, you can dig deeper, but all the tactile and manual functions within reach are very useful and easy to access.

Essentially, Raster 2 is a digital delay that integrates pitch and frequency shift into the feedback loop. The inventory delay time is 1600 milliseconds, which can be increased to 3200 milliseconds through their web application. The web application includes controls for many other depth functions, and greatly increases the functionality of the pedal, and allows you to assign MIDI and other applications as needed.

Infinite repetition starts at 3 o'clock on the feedback control, above it is beautiful chaos. The resonance feedback sound can also be obtained through the three fixed delay ranges of the switch. The left and right delay time (that is, two delays) can be set in series, parallel or ping-pong, and can be set to a ratio so that a single knob will change synchronously. The tone control varies, from a darker analog sound that repeats counterclockwise to a bright and clear color that is completely clockwise, emphasizing your attack.

But, of course, the real star of this unit is pitch conversion and its various combinations. They should really stimulate your creativity. Isn’t this the true meaning of any new musical toy? Where will it lead you, and what new voice did you come up with? The shift knob is the key element to change the pitch. Counterclockwise is lower than the standard pitch to minus 1 octave, and clockwise after noon is the second, third, fourth, etc., to add 1 octave. Between the two, you will find inversions and chords along the way. Conveniently, you can use the pedal as a direct delay with no pitch changes at all, just add changes through the dedicated left foot switch.

So the technical stuff is pretty cool, but how does it sound in actual use? So, for example, you are playing, you have a great little part, with some clear delay, a little bit of modulation, you just have to press the switch on the left, and you will have a ripple, cascading goddesses flowing through you Signal. This is a wonderful sound. In addition, you can really customize the LFO modulation by scrolling through different waveforms, different speeds and depths of ascent and descent options. Using the alt switch as part of the waveform button, you really have a sound, a dream of the universe . Vibrato is also possible, because there are glitches, intermittent pulses, and you can chop up your voice as you like. Semitones, whole steps, or quarter notes can also be used for delay, just like the feedback loop is forward, reverse, or infinite (back to itself).

The foot switch can be configured as momentary or locked, and there is also a control input for the expression pedal, which can be assigned to affect any parameter you choose. There are four presets on the board, plus up to 128 preset options via MIDI. It needs a 9v power supply and at least 250ma to operate normally. Whether you are a singer-songwriter, rock singer or environmental music player, Raster 2 is guaranteed to bring new, wild and exciting things to your voice.
